Our home is a striking industrial-conversion loft in the heart of Fitzroy, one of inner-Melbourne's most loved hipster neighbourhoods. The apartment is a true designer space: exposed concrete ceiling slabs, polished blonde hardwood floors, fluted reeded-glass partitions, a brushed stainless steel kitchen feature wall, white linen modular sofa, custom architect pendant lighting, original artworks on the walls and a small gallery shelf of design books. The compact bedroom sits behind the reeded-glass screen, with handmade plaster walls, a vintage red rear-view mirror as wall art and minimalist linen bedding. There are no animals to look after on this sit, just our beloved indoor plant collection and the apartment itself. We have a large fiddle-leaf fig, three monstera deliciosa, a tall dracaena, two ZZ plants and a small succulent collection on the kitchen sill. We will leave a simple watering schedule (most plants are fortnightly, the fiddle-leaf is weekly) and our cleaner pops in once a week to take care of the rest.
