Renovated Doveton Family Home in Melbourne's South-East with Two Sweet Guinea Pigs

Our renovated family home in Doveton, in Melbourne's south-east, is a fresh, modern and incredibly easy place to call home for a few weeks. Recently refurbished from front to back, the exterior is a smart taupe rendered facade with a charcoal entry door, low-pitch tile roof, contemporary picture windows and a beautifully manicured front lawn behind a charcoal vertical-slat fence. Inside, everything is bright and modern: light timber-look plank floors, fresh white walls, recessed downlights, a striking grey-gloss kitchen with white stone benchtops and a mosaic feature splashback, a sunny living and dining area with two large picture windows, ducted air-conditioning and a beautifully styled lounge zone. Pixie is our 2-year-old American guinea pig (white and ginger) and Mochi is our 3-year-old Abyssinian guinea pig (rosette tortoiseshell). They live together in a roomy enclosure on the back verandah and are absolute sweethearts: fresh hay morning and night, fresh water and a daily handful of leafy greens and capsicum is all they need. Both are friendly, very used to handling and beautifully bonded. Doveton is a quiet south-east Melbourne suburb with a strong sense of community: minutes from Power Reserve and Clay Reserve parks, the Dandenong Plaza shopping centre, an easy drive to the Dandenong Ranges, Phillip Island or down the Mornington Peninsula.
