Pixie is our 2-year-old American guinea pig (white and ginger) and Mochi is our 3-year-old Abyssinian guinea pig (rosette tortoiseshell). They live together in a roomy enclosure on the back verandah and are absolute sweethearts: fresh hay morning and night, fresh water and a daily handful of leafy greens and capsicum is all they need. Both are friendly, very used to handling and beautifully bonded. Doveton is a quiet south-east Melbourne suburb with a strong sense of community: minutes from Power Reserve and Clay Reserve parks, the Dandenong Plaza shopping centre, an easy drive to the Dandenong Ranges, Phillip Island or down the Mornington Peninsula.
